9 musicians lose their lives in boating accident

Lugusa revealed that the musicians had lost their lives after their boat capsized while 17 other passengers in the vessel were successfully rescued.

The regional head of police in Nyanza, Willy Lugusa, made the disclosure yesterday, June 25, 2016.

"The bodies of the other nine are yet to be recovered. We believe they are dead for now."

The police also revealed that the boat had been carrying artists of the Boyieta Wuod Awasi music group to Ndenda Island in western Kenya, where the group was to perform on Saturday evening.
