It was a shocking moment at the Mararaba Upper Area Court in Nasarawa State, when a woman, Doris Agochi, dragged her husband, Cyril, for allegedly stealing her phone valued at N15,000.

According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Stephen Kwaza, Doris reported the matter at the Sani Abacha Road Police Station that her estranged husband came to her house at the State House Quarters, beat up up and stole her phone and other valuables on February 17.

Kwaza said the offences contravened sections 265 and 288 of the Penal Code.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges and the presiding judge, Vincent Gwehemba, granted him bail in the sum of N50, 000 while he adjourned the case to June 6 for further hearing.
