Speeding van kills pregnant woman, her 4 kids, motorcycle rider

News reports have revealed that a pregnant woman, as well as her four children and a commercial motorcyclist have reportedly been crushed to death by a Hilux pick-up van along old Oleh-Ozoro Road, Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area, Delta State.

The unfortunate accident which claimed the lives of the unidentified woman and 5 others, had reportedly taken place yesterday, March 16, 2016 in Oleh, Delta State

The woman, who has been revealed to have sold electrical appliances before her death had reportedly boarded a motorcycle with the children after close of sales for the day, before the accident had occurred.

A source who pleaded anonymity, reveals that the driver of the pick-up who had been involved in a family dispute and had been on the run, had rammed into the victims.

The driver whose name has been withheld is said to have had N200,000, which was part payment of the proceeds from the sale of his family’s piece of land. 

The source went on to reveal that the deliberations on how the part payment of the land, which had been sold for N400,000, should be shared had led to a dispute during which the man had snatched the money and driven off in the Hilux pick-up.

The reports reveal that three of his family members had been in hot pursuit of the hilux in a Toyota Camry car. 

The accident reportedly occurred during in the course of the chase, after he lost control of the vehicle and hit the motorcycle.

The victims reportedly died on the spot with the vehicle dragging them along the road for a while before it finally stopped.

The bodies of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary of a nearby hospital, while the Hilux driver is reportedly still at large.
