Men docked for allegedly belonging to gang of robbers

The prosecutor, Malik Taiwo, told the court that the defendants were arrested on June 9, after an information alert issued on April 10.
He said that the information emanated from the office of Inspector-General of Police, Special Tactical Squad Force, Abuja.
The prosecutor said that during police interrogation, the defendants admitted to belonging to a three-man squad that specialised in robbing and terrorising people within and outside Abuja.
He said the offence contravened Section 306 of the Penal Code.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty.
The judge Alhaji Umar Kagarko, granted them bail in the sum of N200, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
He adjourned the case until Aug. 7 for hearing.
