Son contracts hoodlums to kill father

A wicked son connived with his friends to kill his father.

A 33-year-old man in Rakama village in Ningi local government area of Bauchi State, Ahmadu Saidu, has been arrested by police operatives from the sate Police Command for contracting 30-year-old Umar Sanda Ali and another accomplice who is now at large, to kill his biological father, Sa'idu Lawwali, on the excuse that the deceased was a thief and was bringing shame to the family with his criminal activities.

The culprits, according to the police, did not only murder the 60-year-old Lawwali but they also burnt his corpse and buried him in a shallow grave in the village before they were nabbed by the police.

While being paraded by the command, the unrepentant Saidu vehemently denied killing his father, claiming it was his accomplice, Umar, who committed the act.

According to him, Umar came to their house in the village and slaughtered his father on the ground that he had been stealing people’s goats and cows.

He, however, accepted that the deceased had been causing a lot of embarrassment to his family and that he and his sister had not been able to get anyone in the village to marry.

"I am not involved in the killing because I have never stolen in my life. My sister and I are not married because people call us children of a thief. No one has come to marry my sister and any woman I proposed to usually turned me down on the excuse that my father was a thief."

On his part, Ali swore his innocence:

"I swear I don’t know anything about Ahmadu’s father’s death."

The police say the accused would be charged to court at the end of their investigations.
