The 'slained' Hippo

Few weeks after the killing of a lion called Cecil in Zimbabwe by an American dentist, Walter James Palmer, brought a lot of furore and worldwide condemnation, a group of farmers in Gombe State, have killed a giant Hippopotamus which was said to be terrorising the community and their farmlands.

According to one of the farmer, they decided to hunt down the Hippo to forestall further destruction that could even include loss of lives in the future. So they went after the wild beast and got him at the Dadinkowa Dam in the city and killed it.
