GoFundMe page launched to raise money for hero officer's family
Sergeant Iboko gave up the ghost after succumbing to the injuries he sustained in the shootout with some robbers in an Owerri Zenith bank branch.
Punch reports that Nigerians have pleaded with the publication to champion the cause which would be of tremendous help to the deceased's wife and children.
As earlier reported, Sergeant Iboko gave up the ghost after succumbing to the injuries he sustained in the shootout with some robbers who reportedly trailed a car into the Wetheral Road, Imo State branch of Zenith Bank.
The robbers reportedly snatched a polythene bag from the car but lost a gang member during the robbery.
Video footage and photos from the harrowing incident went viral last week.
Punch who exclusively covered the incident, interviewed Iboko's widow, Rose, and she revealed that the children have since dropped out of school over her inability to pay their school fees.
She also admitted that their house rent is due, proving beyond doubt that the funds being raised would come in handy.
May the soul of the deceased continue to rest in peace.
