After a petroleum tanker had fallen along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, yesterday morning, April 7, 2016, residents living along that axis were captured scooping up the fuel.

Nigerians spotted scooping petrol after tanker falls, spilling content

The fact that their actions were endangering their lives seemed to matter less in the face of the fuel scarcity which has plunged the country into one of its lowest times yet.

The residents had come out en mass with whatever container which could have been use to store fuel, scooping up as much fuel as they possibly could, causing major gridlock traffic along the express.
