For allegedly pouring hot water on her neighbour during a disagreement, a 25-year-old woman, Chioma Monday, has been arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos State, and could face up to five years in jail if convicted.

The accused and the victim, Peace Daniel, both residents of 11, Ogunmokun Street, Mushin, reportedly had a quarrel on who was responsible for keeping their common kitchen tidy in the compound they share, commonly called 'Face-Me-I-Face-Face', and in the process, Monday emptied a pot of boiling water on the victim, scarring her face and parts of her body.

According to the police prosecutor, Sergeant Onaiwu Iyobosa, Monday is facing a two-count charge of assault and a breach of public peace, for the offence she committed on January 25, 2016.

“She poured a pot of hot water on the victim’s face which splashed on her chest and breasts,’’ Iyabosa told the court.
