Driver faces plastic table theft charge, gets N20, 000 bail
Wasiru, 30, of Angwan Rogo Village, Abuja, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.
He was, however, released on bail in the sum of N20, 000 with a surety in like sum after he pleaded not guilty.
The judge, Mr Abubakar Sadiq, who gave the ruling, said the surety should produce his current utility bills and reasonable means of identification as part of the bail condition.
Earlier, Police Prosecutor Dalhatu Zannah told the court that Mr Ogah Paul, the chief security officer attached to the bottling company at Idu Yard, Abuja, reported the incident on June 12 at Life Camp Police Station.
Zannah said the accused committed the offence at 5.30 a.m. on the day of the incident thereby contravening Section 289 of the Penal Code.
He said the plastic table was recovered from the defendant during police investigations.
The case was adjourned until July 5 for hearing.
