Man Bites Off Girlfriend’s Lip In Lagos

The suspect got angry at his lover after he went to visit her and saw another man in her home.

A man in Lagos has been arrested and taken to court after he was accused of assaulting his former lover.

37-year-old Okechukwu Onyemachi is said to have chopped off the upper lip of one Nneka Obi after he saw another man in her house.

Onyemachi, a carpenter, also attempted to commit suicide after causing the injury to Obi in a bid to escape prosecution.

He has been charged with assault and arraigned before a Magistrate Court in the Ebute Metta area of the state.

The prosecutor, Sergeant Quasim Adams, told the court that the incident happened on August 7, 2014 at about 8.30am in Oyingbo.

The suspect, according to Adams, beat up the victim and hit her with a hard object on the head before biting off her lip.

Onyemachi pleaded not guilty to the charges.
