A 68-year-old cannibal woman could face death after she was accused of killing 14 people and eating their flesh.
A 68-year-old Russian grand mother, Tamara Samsonova, has been arrested on charges of multiple murder and cannibalism after being accused of killing 14 people and eating their bodies, including her close friend, 79-year-old Valentina Ulanova.
St. Petersburg police said Samsonova was arrested for the murder of Ulanova after she was seen on surveillance video carrying the body parts of Ulanova in a black plastic bag.
Later, police found the decapitated body of Ulanova in a nearby pond. Investigators believe that Samsonova drugged her victim and cut her up alive.
During a raid on her home, police found evidence that Samsonova may have killed up to 14 people. Police also suspect that Samsonova killed her husband, who disappeared 10 years ago.
In all cases, police only found a partial body, leading them to believe Samsonova ate her victims. She also wrote in a journal that she killed her tenant. She could face the death penalty if convicted.
