A dismissed army officer has been caught after he led is gang for robbery operations.
Police reports have it that the 43-year-old Tombra who was dismissed from the army due to some criminal activities and unethical conduct, usually wore military camouflage while on his robbery spree especially along the Mile 2, Festac and Alakija areas of the state where he and his gang robbed people in traffic.
Tombra was nabbed by operatives attached to the Festac Division of the command while on operation, in full military regalia while members of his gang escaped in the process.
But during interrogation, the suspect claimed he only wore the uniform to avoid paying fares in commercial buses.
"I resigned from the Nigerian Army several years back. Usually, I wear this Nigeria Army camouflage every time I am going out so I will not pay fare."
But the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said Tombra was arrested during a robbery operation and would soon be charged to court after proper investigation.
