While the 34-year-old Oluchi accuses her husband of being a drunk and wife beater, the 40-year-old Obinna refuted and told the court that his wife is an incurable flirt who sleeps around with different men.

First to go was Oluchi while begging the court to separate them, saying that she was tired of the marriage and that she was no longer in love with her husband.

“My husband is a drunk and wife beater. He drinks a lot which always intoxicates him and makes him to behave abnormally. When he comes home, he will descend on me by beating me without any offence.

On many occasions, after beating me, he will also descend on the children either by beating or hitting them with dangerous weapons.

I had to pack out of the house with the children to save our lives.”

She went further to accuse her husband of trying to steal their children from where she took them to.

“My husband attempted to steal our children, he came to pick them and wanted to play with them outside the house.

A neighbour called to inform me that my husband came with a car to convey the children, I quickly rushed out and ran after the moving car, shouting for help.

Fortunately, there was traffic and I was able to rescue my children with the help of some good Samaritans.”

Obinna also rose to his defense, accusing his wife of infidelity:

she left the house to stay with her man friend.

I did not try to steal my own children. I just wanted the children to live with me so that I can give them proper training. I do not have any wrong motive.”

He also agreed to the dissolution of the marriage, saying that he was also fed up with the union.
