A son has killed his father because was stopped from going to the North to join up with Boko Haram.
32-year-old Chinedu Emmanuel Nnalue, is currently regretting the devil that pushed him into hacking his 59-year-old father, Nwafor Nnalue, to death during an argument.
Chinedu who is now being detained at the Anambra State Police Command, was said to have butchered his father when the deceased advised him not to go back to Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, over fears for his own life and the fact that he had affiliation with the dreaded Boko Haram sect.
According to the Sun Newspaper, the late Nnalue and his family was living in Damaturu until they were forced to relocate to Anambra as a result of the Boko Haram insurgency.
The suspect is said to have bee born in the North and later changed his religion to become a Muslim, after he which he married an indigene of the state, and had two kids by her.
When the family relocated to the East, Chinedu's wife refused to go with them, forcing him to always pester his family that he wanted to go back to his family.
The conflict got to a head when the suspect allegedly waited for his mother and sister to go to the farm and thereafter, went to his father where he was sleeping and butchered him him with a machete.
The unrepentant suspect spoke to newsmen in his police cell:
"I had to kill my father because he refused to give me permission to go back to Yobe to see my wife and two children who are still living in Damaturu.
My wife is also heavy with pregnancy and I felt there is need for me to go and see her, but he refused, saying he didn’t want to lose me to Boko Haram.
My father took me to a herbalist who told us that I should not go back to Yobe State. I used to see my father in my dream disturbing me not to go back to Yobe State because of Boko Haram and because of this I had to kill him."
