A baker who stabbed his friend to death during a fight has been remanded in prison.
While awaiting the release of legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), in the state, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Ajibade, ordered that Yunus be remanded at Ikoyi Prisons for 30 days, while adjourning the case till October 19, for mention.
Sgt. Daniel Ighodalo, the prosecutor in the case, had earlier informed the court that the convict committed the crime in the night of May 18, at Makoko Junction, Yaba, during a misunderstanding over money that led to the fight.
Ighodalo added that the offence contravened Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011, which prescribes death sentence for convicts.
