Two suspected cult members have been arrested by the police in Lagos for being behind the murder of more than twenty people.
The suspects were arrested at the Agosi area in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, where dangerous weapons like machetes and axes were recovered from them.
According to the police, the suspects have already confessed to being members of the Black Axe confraternity and had participated in the various bloody fights with members of the Eiye Cult group in Otta and Ifo, where many lives were lost.
The ZIS spokesman, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest of the cultists, saying they were nabbed while planning an attack.
DSP Adejobi said the suspects confessed to have killed several people, including one Niyi alias Neyo, who was the Black Axe leader in Ifo. He was killed on Western City Street in Ifo in March by his members who wanted to overthrow him.
