A Florida, USA, Sheriff’s Deputy, Matthew Vernon Donnelly, has been arrested and charged with raping a 26-year-old woman and threatening to arrest and jail her boyfriend if she told anyone, reports Latest.

A senior police officer in Florida has been found guilty of raping a woman and threatening to send her boyfriend to jail if she told anyone.
Police reports that the Lake County Deputy Sheriff, sexually assaulted the woman and the department has begun the process to fire the officer.
The incident took place on December 31, 2014, when Donnelly approached the victim’s SUV to find the the apparently drunk woman unresponsive, with her boyfriend beside her.
Donelly took the woman’s boyfriend and put him in the back of his police cruiser before awaking the woman.
According to the victim, Donnelly told her she was 'f*cking sexy', before groping her and then raping her.
The woman testified that she did not fight back because she was frightened and intimidated by the officer. After the assault, the woman underwent a sexual assault examination that confirmed that Donnelly, who is married, caused a cervical injury in the assault.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement also found the victim’s DNA in three different places in Donnelly’s patrol car including the steering wheel, the shifter knob and Donnelly’s flashlight.
The Lake County Police Department is in the process of firing Donnelly after he has been convicted sexual battery and in addition to stripping him of his badge, he could face life in prison.
