Governor-Elect Tells Citizens To Disobey Government Orders

Ekiti State governor-elect, Ayo Fayose tells his people never to obey a curfew imposed by the governor kayode Fayemi.

Mr. Ayodele Fayose, the governor-elect of Ekiti State, has once again shown that he is a law on to himself by telling his supporters they should not obey the curfew imposed by the outgoing Governor Kayode Fayemi, following the violence that erupted few weeks ago, telling them that no one can arrest them.

Governor Fayemi had imposed a 7pm-7am curfew following a break down of law and order in the state capital that led to the death of one of his staunch supporters, Mr. Omolafe Aderiye, a former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the state.

The violence which engulfed that state was alleged to have been instigated by the governor-elect as to thugs loyal to Fayose were reported to have beaten up a high court judge and other judges while hearing a case that challenged Fayose's eligibility to run in the election that saw him defeat incumbent Fayemi, seeing that he was impeached as governor on 16 October, 2006.

To safeguard life and property, Fayemi declared the curfew but that has not gone down well with Fayose who has told his supporters not to obey the curfew, telling them to call him if anyone arrests them.

Mr. Fayose gave the orders while speaking to the Nigeria Television Authority, (NTA), in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

It is unfortunate that people have been put under needless pressure and I have discussed with the police and the army on the need to let people move around freely.

I have spoken with the security agencies on the need to allow people to move freely. As from today, I have released people to go about freely. There is no more curfew.

No security agent will arrest you. Anyone who is harassed or arrested should call me.

You people of Ekiti State saw me that I am not a professor before you voted for me. Those making frantic efforts to go against the will of the people will not succeed.

Their effort is like the last kick of a dying horse and we will triumph.
