A Port Harcourt, Rivers State, based businessman, Ikeoku Onyemachi, has been killed by a police officer attached to the Eziama Police Division of the Abia State Police Command, after he was shot in the head by the officer who attempting to seize Onyemachi's motorcycle shortly after depositing the body of a dead relation at mortuary.

A man who took a corpse to deposit in a mortuary met his death in the hands of the police on his return.
Vanguard reports that the incident which happened at Ogbor Hill, Aba, has thrown the family of the father of two into confusion on how to bury two corpses at the same time.
According to the report, Onyemachi and a friend identified as Okike, both from Abala community in Obingwa Local Government Area of the state, were on their way home after depositing the corpse in the mortuary of Group Medical Practice, when a patrol team of policemen stopped them and tried to seize their motorcycle.
The deceased and his friend were said to have tried to explain to the police team that they had just deposited a corpse at the mortuary but the policemen were adamant to their explanation, leading to an argument.
At that instant, an unnamed policemen corked his gun and shot Onyemachi in the head. The police team were said to have jumped into their vehicle and fled the scene, leaving the body on Onyemachi in a pool of his blood.
His friend and other passersby reportedly rushed him to the Abia State University Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH), where he was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Ezekiel Onyeke, has confirmed the incident while the Commissioner of Police in the state, Habila Joshak, has directed the arrest of the killer policeman, vowing to bring him to justice.
