UNILAG student gunned down over Arsenal's exit from Champions' League

A student of the University of Lagos whose name remains unknown was gunned down on Tuesday night over the Arsenal-Monaco match contrary to earlier reports that it was a cult related attack.

The earlier speculation was that his death was related to the upcoming Student Union Government (SUG) elections.

Speaking on the incident, a former President of one of the University's hostels, who pleaded anonymity, said, "That guy who was killed was not murdered by cultists. It was a case of football argument after the Arsenal/Monaco match on Tuesday night."

He also added that the University was free from cultism and that even if the school had cultists, they don't carry out their activities in school.

Efforts to get more information as regards the deceased have failed as students have refused to give out information as regards their colleague.
