Well, I did and it took me 10hours! But yayyyy I voted. I also made the best out of voting experience (someone actually called it 9-5). We camped, played games while waiting to be called. It was really well organised in Lekki even though INEC officials came late but that gist is for later.
Today, I am back with this week’s Food post. My food discovery in Lekki really doesn’t end as places are popping up everywhere in Lekki. I feel I have a lot more to do but then i will always keep you updated. This week’s food discovery took me to yet another hotel in Lekki. I was talking to a friend and I realised not so many people know there are good hotels in Lekki he said ‘I love hotel foods because they are really good and you can swim before and relax after eating’ Almost like all in 1.
That is sometimes true because before I started exploring Lekki I only thought about restaurants in hotels in VI but then Lekki has some really nice hidden hotels with good food. I took yet another tour to one of the hidden new gems off Wole olateju (Waterfront) in Lekki which is a boutique hotel in the ‘Koro’ You really won’t know it is there. So what really attracted me to the restaurant was the interior deco I saw on Instagram – very urban and simple.
At boutique hotel the restaurant looked really simple and different because of the space. The restaurant is not meant for everyone because they have 2 lounges and an outdoor space which also looked nice as well. I sat at the restaurant, flipped through the food menu which was very limiting with very few variety. I noticed more African dishes e.g No continental starter only Nigerian. I felt i had a lack of options so I ordered Mediterranean chicken with Mashed potatoes but first of all Ipanu
See meal pictures below:
The Mediterranean chicken when served with mashed potatoes and veggies looked alright. I was not sure what they where going for with how it was presented. Mashed potatoes looked pretty. The chicken tasted really nice and was not over cooked or too soft, very well marinated. I could taste the pesto which was not too strong. I would have preferred more of the pesto sauce for the mashed potatoes because it was really nice.
The wait time was almost like forever because i waited for 50minutes to get my food and i was the only one. I know the post election really short staffed places. I would definitely be going back because i loved the ambiance and the food was good at a good price (My meal cost N3,500).
