Groovy Green Smoothie

A great way to get your kids to eat greens! You will be amazed by this yummy fruity smoothie. Experiment with different amounts or types of fruit and make your own.

 

We love green smoothies, but I have learned a few things and it is the fact Spinach is absolutely delicious with a banana. If you like you can add a banana. any frozen fruit, yogurt, and a liquid. you will not taste spinach as the banana calms the overly fruity taste and does not over-power.

Ingredients

1 banana, cut in chunk

1 cup grapes

1 (6 ounce) tub vanilla yogurt

1 1/2 cups fresh spinach leaves

1/2 apple, cored and chopped

Directions

Place the banana, grapes, yogurt, apple and spinach into a blender. Cover, and blend until smooth, stopping frequently to push down anything stuck to the sides. Pour into glasses and serve.

This drink was really good. We were reluctant to drink it for breakfast but by mid-morning, it was a sweet and healthy treat. Surprisingly, it even looks good.
