Entrepreneurs, Startup founders, and guests gathered at the Oriental hotel this week for the much-anticipated second edition of Lagos Startup Week which runs from September 24 to September 30, 2016.

The event which is centered around celebrating communities that build momentum and opportunities around entrepreneurship and SME’s was hosted by different organisations and speakers sharing inspiring business stories, experiences, tips and tricks on how to be better entrepreneurs.

Head of Ringier Digital Marketing, Zubby Emodi and Head of Sales & Marketing, Ibukun Onitiju were the featured speakers at two masterclasses. On Monday, Sept. 26, Ibukun spoke on the theme: Digital Marketing Best Practices for Today, alongside Corporate Citizenship Lead at  Microsoft- Olusola Amusan and Agency Relationship Manager at Google - Ayode Akinfemiwa.

On Tuesday, Sept. 27, Zubby spoke to attendees on User Experience and Product Development. Other speakers included Yemi Olatunde, Funfere Koroye, and Emeka Okocha.

James Jones and Lisa Brian were the featured speakers, inspiring employees to find a campaign they were passionate about and make their chosen careers more than just a job.

Jones shared the joy he feels when he meets the unspoken needs of his clients after going the extra mile to discover what they really wanted, and Brian encouraged the attendees to challenge themselves to a higher standard of work.

The presentations struck a chord with Sue Powell, who remarked, “I feel a new sense of purpose towards the campaign I’ve been assigned. I’m motivated to do more than just get the job done; I want to create a campaign that I would be passionate about as a consumer.” With the motivation from successful advertisers, a chance to interact with key industry leaders, and a captivating sunset enjoyed from the top floor of King Center, it was truly a day to remember.
