Three smartphones to jumpstart your photography career

So, let us check great mobile phones we could use to berth these dreams of hours in reality! It’s all about the cameras, can I get an amen?

Many of us recognise this need and crave desperately to freeze every perfect moment forever.

We also recognise that some of the life’s best pictures are taken at the spur of the moment, at the flicker of a thought or the slightest whiff of a creative muse.

So it really will be superb to have a great camera handy for those moments, no very fancy or cumbersome devices o cameras especially if you are not yet accustomed to using them, because sometimes as the saying goes, less is more.

Imagine being able to whip out your mobile phone and capture amazingly breath-taking pictures with the same ease you’d as when you make phone calls?

If the above is you, just know that you are not alone. I love to take pictures of sunset and sunrise, of lovely, crazy scenes on Lagos roads and traffic; of those unplanned happy, cheery moments but I certainly don’t want to go around with a camera drooping around my neck, at least not just yet.

For the love of everything beautiful, this is one phone to have! See, the camera features on this phone is crazy!

It boasts of a 13 MP front camera with LED flash and 13MP back camera with an 83 degree wide viewing angle and an ISP picture noise detecting technology among others.

It has a 1080 x 1920 pixels display resolution and comes with a 6-lens system, one more than its predecessor. The front camera is centred and retains flash.

It was not dubbed 'the selfie master' for nothing and Tecno did not just play on the name of popular camera brand for the sake of it.

The gods of photography, recognising the human need for selfies and great pictures, blessed us with Tecno Camon C9.

I have a bias for this phone and it is not unfounded. I was at a function earlier today and we needed to take group pictures afterwards and trust me, the phones with bigger names did not half as good job as my Samsung Galaxy A5 2016.

It flaunts a primary camera with 13 MP with a 28mm viewing angle (Mega Pixels) and a 5 MP secondary camera complete with 24mm viewing angle and 1080p.

Both its primary and secondary cameras have f/1.9 aperture which gives you better light, guarantees better picture quality even in low-light conditions and the allowance for wide-angle viewing since it that allows you capture more of your surroundings.

I like the optical image stabilization (OIS) feature of this phone as well. For those who don’t know, the OIS is the apparatus contained within a digital camera that buffers the impact of shaking or vibrations while the camera is in use.

It also has the autofocus feature, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR.

Again, for those who do not know, HDR means high dynamic range and it refers to scenes with both bright and dark elements- including the sun, reflecting off water, with deep shadows in the tree lines, or even a regularly lit person standing against the glare of an open window.

See, when God was giving inspiration for great camera phones, let us not argue, he gave Samsung more! If you doubt it, go get Samsung Galaxy J7.

If you didn’t know before now, please know now: Samsung Galaxy J7 does not just come with a 13MP back camera; it also has a 5MP front camera with LED flash and an f/1.9 aperture for wide angles. The back camera also features f/1.9, 28mm angle, autofocus, LED flash. Combined, the phone’s other features include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and HDR.

Thank goodness for these amazing phones and even more, you can very easily kick start your photography journey.
