Pop star steals crown from arch rival, Katy Perry at Elle Style Awards

Shake It Off singer, Taylor Swift, hit it big last year by making a surprising departure from country music to pop with her album 1989.

This risky, bold move paid off as her album topped the music charts and got her loads of recognition from Billboard and other bodies.

She added a new feather to her cap by getting Woman of The Year title at Elle Style Awards, just after Katy Perry got it last year.

The talented singer dazzled in an emerald dress with a high slit in front, black straps and detailing, matching stud earrings, and black shoes on the red carpet.

Swift was presented with her award at the glamorous event by another winner, Sam Smith, who was named musician of the year.

Guests at the event at the Sky Garden at London's 20 Fenchurch Street, commonly known as the Walkie Talkie Tower because of its distinctive shape, included Pixie Geldof, M.I.A., Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, sexy in black, named model of the year, Australian actress, Rebel Wilson, named rising star, and others.

She certainly deserves the title and coincidently, she wore green, the colour of envy, just saying.
