4 Nigerian designers to showcase at the event
4 Nigerian menswear designers are scheduled to showcase at the South African Menswear Week, #SAMW AW16, which will take place from Wednesday, Feb. 3rd till Saturday Feb. 6th.
This is a big win for Nigeria, as the glamorous event is regarded as one of the most professional and talked about fashion weeks in Africa. The event will feature over 30 menswear designers showcasing their collections for Autumn/Winter 2016.
The designers from Nigeria who are going to be showcasing at the event, on the First and last days, are the best in the business and they include, Kola Kuddus’ Kola Kuddus, Orange Culture’s Adebayo Oke-Lawal, Tokyo James’ Tokyo James and Maxivive’s Babatunde Oyeyemi.
According to organizers – “We were flooded with applications, but only the best made it through the 12 panel curation panel, and even then, we only have space to accommodate 35 best who topped all criteria.“
At past South African fashion weeks, MAI, Kola Kuddus and Orange Culture have showcased their collections. This year, they will be joined by Tokyo James and Maxivive.
