Mercy Aigbe shows how to nail 'Aso-Oke' in the chic-est way ever in new photos she shares.

The Nollywood actress chose the timeless trend in perforated style showing off the otherwise traditional look in a modern way and in sultry pastel hues accessorized just enough to pop.

Aso-Oke is synonymous with the Yoruba's who used them as accessories on Iro and Buba (blouse and wrapper) till date, forming one of the popular 'owambe' (party) looks seen at weddings (on brides for engagements and traditional wedding looks), as 'Aso-ebi', on brides mothers and so on. It's a staple that's worn respectably.

Aso-Oke however in present day has been modified to suit modern trends, It was sported in Maki Oh's collection at the Heineken Lagos Fashion & Design Week 2015  in a statement tassel look that made a stunning statement look; singer Asa has since worn the look.

At the 2016 LFDW Ladunni Lambo also made a case for the Aso-Oke infusing it into different chic styles for the modern muse, making the otherwise traditional look a timeless one.

Aigbe chose the look in mix and match perforated and embellished style sporting the matching set in top and wrapper with the blouse complete with perforated arm details over wrapper.

She completes the look with the matching aso oke in statement headwrap wearing a soft pink based smokey eye and ombre pink lips and coral beads and silver wrist watch as accessories.
