Some of the greatest fashion icons, including one of Nigeria’s trendiestcelebrities, Temi Dollface, has been caught numerous times saying that she doesn’t follow fashion trends.

However, there are trends that seem to have been around for as long as we can remember, either because of their timeless appeal or their versatile presence. Whatever the case may be, they seem to be worth paying attention to. That being said, here are five trends for guys that seem to never go away:

Double-Breasted blazer: This is probably my favorite male fashion trend. It’s so timeless and versatile, it’s become even more trendy with the ladies. It’s minimal in nature in that it is a power look for men that doesn’t need much accessorizing.

The classic oxford shirt: Not only is a it a sure fashion bet, it is a closet requirement for any stylish man in the world. At some point in a man’s life, a need will arise for the classic white oxford shirt. The greatest Nigerian consumers of the oxford shirt is the Nigerian law school students...trust me!

White t-shirt and jeans: First of all, the color ,white, has a timeless appeal to it. No matter what you do or where you are or what period you were born in, you can never go wrong with an all white outfit. It offers a clean and neat look that is effortless for men.

Tailored trousers: Whenever style is concerned, fit is paramount and cannot be overlooked. Therefore, it makes sense that the fitted trousers, whether chinos or suit-type trousers, have been around for so long and will always be around for men.

Breton shirt with tailored blazer: I’ve seen this look done over and over again and each time it works so well. I think the reason why it’s so timeless is because of the stripes, something about them just spell simplicity and ease. If we know anything, we know the simplest things last longest.
