Nigeria’s foremost campus publication visits Pacelli

As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, the team embarked on a charity visit to the Pacelli School for the Blind & Partially Sighted Children, Surulere, Lagos.

As part of its activities, the team led by its publisher, Biodun Caston-Dada embarked on a charity visit to the Pacelli School for the Blind & Partially Sighted Children, Surulere, Lagos.

The visit afforded the team an opportunity to meet with the students and management of the school that has been in the forefront of training visually impaired children through primary education for free.

Indeed, there was jubilation at school as Acada magazine team and friends donated foodstuffs, toiletries, beverages and other valuables items to the school. They were also taken on a tour of the school’s facilities and classrooms, where the team discovered some students with fantastic voices.

“We chose to commence the celebration of Acada Magazine at 10 by giving back to the society, having stayed relevant and consistently feeding the public, especially youths and campus students with life enhancing and up to date educative information for 10 years now".

"From what we saw here today, I think the school needs the support of both individuals and organisations; educating these children for free is not an easy task,” the publisher said. In conclusion, Biodun-Caston-Dada advised the students to look beyond their current challenges and see a brighter future ahead of them.

Acada magazine appeared on the newsstand in March 2007 and metamorphosed into a free bi-weekly youth/campus tabloid seven years after.

Aside the visit to Pacelli, the magazine has lined up other activities to mark its 10th anniversary, including empowerment programmes, youth conference, club parties and other entertainment activities.
