VJ Ehiz, Sharon Ezeamaka to host three upcoming editions

The duo of MTV VJ, Ehiz and actress, Sharon Ezeamaka will host three exciting editions of ‘On Tour With Shuga’ festivals coming up soon.

The tour, a new outreach campaign for  to further motivate young people on the need to know their status, is sponsored by MTV Base, MTV Staying Alive Foundation and Elton John Aids Foundation in partnership with NACA,PEPFARThe Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and UNICEF.

According to Georgia Arnold, Executive Director of the MTV Staying Alive Foundation,each tourwillbring the goals of MTV Shuga to life in the real world and allow participants a chance to meet with the cast, audition to be the official MTV Shuga red carpet host at the premiere of season 4 and also take free HIV testing and counseling sessions.

Meanwhile, the shooting of the 4th season of the TV series will begin in a few days. It stars Mr Nigeria, Emmanuel Ikubese, Chris Attoh, Timini Egbuson, Olumide Oworu and a host of others. Like previous seasons, it will focus on a range of themes relevant to young people, including adolescent girls, stigma, prevention of mother-to-child transmission (PMTCT) of HIV, HIV testing, counselling and the use of helplines, gender based violence, first sex, and disclosure of HIV status.

MTV Shuga made its debut in 2009 and has since continued to educate the public fusing sexual and other public health messaging with world-class storytelling and relatable characters. The third season 3 aired to more than 550 million households in Africa, Europe, UK, The Americas, Asia, Australia and Oceania, and The Caribbean via a total of 97 TV broadcasters including 63 African broadcasters.
