Junior Achievement Nigeria holds annual flagship event

The event brings winners of regional competitions across Nigeria together to compete for the National Company of the Year Award.

The JAN’s National Company of the Year Competition is an annual event that brings the JA Company Program winners of Regional Competitions across Nigeria together to compete for the National Company of the Year Award. The program teaches Senior secondary students how to start and run their own business from inception to liquidation with the guidance of a volunteer.

The JAN's Event was packed with  the panel of judges which includes JAN Ambassador and Alumnus of JA Company Program, Mr. Tunji Eleso, Co-Founder, CoCreation Hub; Mr. Audu Maikori, Founder/President, Chocolate City and Mrs. Lola Oyeka, Citi Country Public Affairs Officer, Nigeria & Ghana. Ms. Veronique Hob-Hob, Minerva Regional Outreach Manager,Africa. Olubukola Karibi-White, CEO The Bobby Taylor Company & invicta Communication. Nimi Akinkugbe,  CEO Bestman Games. Ladell Robbins, Vice President African Capital Alliance.

The major highlights of the event includes the Interviews by the judges, the teams presentation of their company and their companies product, Also the Trade fair and product exhibition was spectacular. then,presentation of the Awards. After screening and collation of results by the Judges.

Caro Favoured College, Agegunle  emerged the winners of the 2016 edition JA National Company of the Year Award, with the name of their company as 'Innovative Minds' (Innoms) which produced a Digital Text display board using available Materials and a software program with a brilliant addition of a rechargeable Battery. In second Place was Methodist Girls Secondary school, Port-Harcourt  the ' Excellent Achievers Company'. In Third place was the Asokoro Community staff School, Abuja  the 'New Era Company' and in forth place was the Government Secondary School,Tundun Wada, jos the 'The Explorers Company'.

The Caro Favoured College as NCOY winner will represent Nigeria against other JA Africa member-nation companies for the title of JA Africa Company of the Year in Zimbabwe this December.
