Broadway-styled show, musical concert to hold this December
Scheduled to hold from the 16th to 18th December 2016, EWURO will be addressing the social issue of violence against women.
The show rides on the wings of music, dance and drama to start progressive conversations about selected social issues in the hope to inspire psychological, ideological and behavioural change in our people.
Scheduled to hold from the 16th to 18th December 2016, EWURO will be addressing the social issue of violence against women. Occurrence and recurrence of this ill has become endemic and what is even more troubling is the extent to which people go to cover it up, both the victims and the aggressors. We are therefore inspired to creatively address it and re-awaken our emotions to the true nature of the female experience in Nigeria in the hope that we will begin to engage in fruitful conversations about this issue and ultimately, change will begin.
Directed by the acclaimed director, Joseph Ofili, the cast include A-list veterans like Joke Silva, Banky W, Tim Godfrey, Dakore Akande, Waje, Chinonso Young, Gloria Young, Nedu O.C Ukeje, Lepacious Bose, Femi Jacobs, Yaw, and a host of others.
Through the exploration of our mundane experiences mirrored by the lives of the characters, the EWURO Broadway exposes instances of violence against women. The EWURO story speaks to the aggressors and the victims alike, challenging the aggressors and empowering the victims.
The EWURO message is delivered through the irresistible hybrid of drama, poetry, music and dance. Following the trajectory of each character’s experience, it climaxes into a thought provoking resolution that is characteristic of all ROX Broadways.
“EWURO” is powered by The Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) in collaboration with Republic Of Xtreme And Swiftthink Limited.
