What if art was made into jollof rice? If a writer, photographer, techie, poet and musician are in a room, what would emerge? For Osisiye Tafa, author of  ‘Sixty Percent of a True Story’, a mashup of art forms is not new, as he has constantly explored how music, dance and food could tell the stories in his creative fiction work.

The Unsaid was an Art + Tech discussion that explored the theme of silence, minimalism and ‘Less’. Conversation drivers included Bemyoda – a musician, Editi Effiong – CEO of Anakle, creators of the Bride Price app, Osisiye Tafa – author of ‘Sixty Percent of a True Story’, Logor Oluwamuyiwa – curator of the Monochrome Lagos project and Seye Kuyinu – author of ‘Things I Wanted to Tell You in Other Words – a relationship diary’.

Editi Effiong talked about making an app go viral by asking the right questions and the importance of focusing creative efforts where the trend is. He also shed some light on his recent project, #NorthernStories a photo blog of the North. Logor explained why he captures the city in only white and black as the lack of colours makes him focus on what is important. The duo of Osisiye and Seye spoke about their creative process and how the spaces between words are as important as the words themselves.

It was an easy laid back event with the audience participating actively in conversations and piecing apart the creative process from different genres. The Unsaid is a Creative Evenings project that will have creative types gather monthly to discuss.
