This exhibition aims to spotlight on the victims of Boko Haram insurgency that ravaged Northeast Nigeria. More importantly, this is a charity event of which the proceeds would be donated to cover medial bills of those without means to pay.
The exhibition will feature brief speeches by various international aid organizations and respective local organizations to appreciate their undying support to ease the pains of the refugee.
The Federal Medical Center Yola has been selected as a support-target. It is strictly a non-profit event.
The event is a joint project of Akam Contemporary, Team Bindow Initiative, and Pulse Nigeria.
The exhibition promises to:
- Showcase visual arts, donor agencies, and local talents to celebrate the dignity of humanity in spite of tough conditions.
- Document, for history, the refugee crisis that ravaged Adamawa State during the heat of insurgency between 2013 and 2015.
- Demystify the perception of Adamawa State, surrounded by beautiful hills and cascading landscapes, and Northern Nigeria as a high-risk zone.
- Show to the world the true meaning of the African pride.
- Benchmark the “Land of Beauty” as a tourist attraction through the celebration of arts and culture
