GE Lagos Garage launched in 2014

Applications are now open for the third edition of General Electric’s (GE) advanced manufacturing skills program, Lagos Garage.

GE Lagos Garage is a four-week program dedicated to accelerating the impact of Nigeria’s most promising entrepreneurs, especially in advanced manufacturing.

Participants will get access to a variety of investors, instructors, technical experts and partners, as well as learn how to create products using cutting edge technology.

GE originally launched the Garages program back in 2012 as a means of reinvigorating interest in invention, innovation, and manufacturing in its native America.

The program went global in 2014 with a four-week workshop that utilized the latest in advanced manufacturing technologies such as 3D printers, CNC mills, and laser cutters also holding in Nigeria.

A permanent installation of the Lagos Garage program was launched in December 2016 and since then two cohorts of 68 participants have been through the program with over $1 million secured in funding.

During this third edition, participants will receive training in the latest advanced manufacturing technologies and techniques to enable innovation through rapid prototyping.
