The European Union (EU), via the EU Delegation to Nigeria, aims for a world where girls and women rights are valued, respected and claimed by all, where everyone is able to contribute their quota to a fair and just society.
In its 2016–2020 Gender Action Plan (GAP), the EU focuses on shifting institutional culture, advancing girls’ and women’s physical and psychological integrity, their economic and social rights, and their voice and participation in order to end gender discrimination.
Women’s participation in the economy, an important aspect of the EU’s GAP plan, is essential for sustainable development and economic growth anywhere in the world.
“Gender equality and the empowerment of girls and women is not just a human rights issue, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world,” the EU said in a statement.
The event will take place at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos on June 15, 2017, at 9AM. If you are interested, make sure you’re there.
