16 years ago, on a Friday night, millions of young people were tuned in to AIT to watch the weekly music programme AIT. That day will go down in Nigerian Hip Hop history as a historical day.

The duo of Kenny 'Keke' Ogungbe, and Dayo 'D1' Adeneye ushered in the breakaway member of the pop group The Remedies, Toni Tetuila. That night he performed the second single 'Omode Meta' off his debut album Morning Time.
The performance would later double as the video. This day goes down in history for a few good reasons. 'Omode Meta' featured a skinny 2face Idibia and Black Face which made up the legendary R&B group Plantashun Boyz. This was the first significant appearance of 2Baba on television. His high pitched voice stole the show on the collabo heavy song. This was the beginning of 2face's rise from an obscure Jos Boy, to fan favourite and finally legend.
Secondly 'Omode Meta' is regarded as the first mainstream rap diss song in Nigeria. The song took shots at The Remedies. This act would later spill into Eedris Abdulkareem dissing Plantashun Boyz, and Toni Tetuila in 2002 in the track 'Wackawickee MCs' when he went solo.
The song was also produced by Paul 'Play' Dairo who produced Tony Tetuila's first album. Paul Play is regarded as one of Nigeria's best producers and R&B singers.
This throwback Thursday is dedicated to this historic video. Enjoy.
Side info- The group Ruff Rugged 'N' Raw never released an album during its existence.
