Singer leads MTV EMA awards list with 9 nominations + full list

The 'Shake It Off' singer has dominated the list of hopefuls at this year's awards bash with nominations in categories including Best Song, Best Female, and Best Live Act.

Pop star, Taylor Swift, leads MTV EMA awards list with 9 nominations

Pop star, Taylor Swift, is definitely trailblazing as she leads with nine nominations at the MTV EMAs.

Singer and Taylor's friend, Ed Sheeran, is up for prizes in four categories including Best UK and Ireland Act, Best Male, Best Live Act and Best World Stage.

Meanwhile One Direction, who have announced they will be taking a hiatus after their fifth album, are up for three prizes.

Other British stars who are up for prizes include Ellie Goulding, James Bay, Mark Ronson and Jess Glynne.

Canadian singer, Justin Bieber, follows closely behind Taylor with six EMA nominations, boosted by the global success of his chart-topping track, 'What Do You Mean?'

Little Mix were chosen by fans to be the wildcard in the Best UK and Ireland Act category.

The nominees were announced through MTV's Snapchat Discover channel, and fans can cast their votes at mtvema.com

The 2015 MTV EMAs will take place at the Mediolanum Forum in Milan on Sunday October 25.
