Controversial act says he will boycott Grammys until its voting system is fixed

The Hip-Hop producer faults the voting system of the world's most famous music award ceremony.

Mercurial Hip-Hip act Kanye West has stated that he will not be attending future editions of the Grammys until the awards ceremony gets restructured to favour popular artistes.

In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest, Kanye who made headlines for almost interrupting Beck at the Grammys early this week, said he will have to sit with the top executives of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the body behind the Grammys, to fix the voting sysytem.

"I will not go until I sit with [NARAS president] sit with [NARAS chairman emeritus] , and fix the voting system to be more in accord with the popular votes, because the popularity is what is needed to sell commercials" he said.

Also, in the interview Kanye West said losing a Grammy award is like getting a divorce. "And the Grammys, for us artists that work really hard and go to the studio every day, it's like they ask us for a divorce every year and break our dreams every year" he stated.
