“My mother refuses to allow me to wash plates,” 13-year-old singer says

Check out this interview with the young artist who is seeking to be the next Nigerian child star.

Destiny Boy, a 13-year-old fuji pop artiste, came on to the radar with the release of a cover to Davido’s hit single, 'If', which has since gone viral and creating a lot of buzz for the young wannabe superstar.

Born Afeez Adesina in Agege, Destiny Boy’s association with Fuji music began from childhood, having been influenced by his neighbourhood on the Lagos mainland, where Fuji was is a societal soundtrack.

But it was the music from Nigerian pop culture that gave him his first break. He began to connect with music from African pop stars including D’banj, 2face Idibia, Wande Coal and more. He did this with a Fuji twist which made his covers stand out.

Partnering with producers 2T Boiz, he remade Davido’s ‘If’ in a video which went viral and put him on the map.
