Star ready to sign One Direction's Zayn Malik for solo rap career

Malik has reportedly shown an interest in rapping on his band's tracks in the past, and the New York MC believes with the right people's support, he could forge a credible solo career in hip-hop.

50 Cent has offered to sign Zayn Malik to his record label if the One Direction singer opts to pursue a rap career.

"If Zayn wants a rap career, just because of who he is, he is going to sell records," 50 told The Sun, as pointed out by Sugar Scope. "But if he wants to be credible he has to be with the right people."

"I'd happily sign him up to my label, mentor him and have him working with the biggest rappers on the planet."

One Direction's manager, Simon Cowell, recently revealed his belief that the five-piece should all pursue solo side-projects, as well as staying with the band. Various members are known to be pursuing solo activities, though the group are currently working on a follow-up to the 2014 album 'Four'.

"We've said to the boys 'All of you should do other things'," said Cowell. "If you want to work with me, do some stuff on your own.' They should be allowed to do whatever they want."
