‘We have moved past the age where people with sickle cell are incapable," Timileyin Edwin said in a new episode of "Warriors."
The series is aimed at creating awareness as well as drawing attention to the every day journey and struggles faced by those living with Sickle Cell.
The fourth and final websisode is about Timileyin Edwin, a bubbly, vivacious and ambitious 29-yer-old woman.
She attributes her outlook on life to the way her mother, who also has sickle cell, raised her.
"We have moved past the age where people with sickle cell are incapable," she said in the episode.
Timileyin concludes the series by advising parents of warriors to not over protect their children as this will prepare them for the future.
The four episodes of the web series shows the inadequacy of generalizations and the need to deliberately remove the stigmatization attached to people living with sickle cell.
"Warriors" is a four-part docu-series featuring four Warriors who share what it means to live with Sickle Cell in today’s Nigeria.
