Sometimes the kids get left out when we talk about what to watch on TV. Not to worry, Pulse Nigeria has got the whole family covered.
Most times we talk about what US television series to watch or upcoming movies, mostly the adult stuff. Sometimes we forget that kids watch TV too.
Not to worry, Pulse Nigeria presents a list of TV series for kids currently showing on Disney Junior airs on DStv channel 309 and GOtv Plus channel 60.
'Doc McStuffins' is a story of a nurturing six-year-old girl called Dottie "Doc" McStuffins. What makes this animated fantasy interesting is that Dottie can talk to stuffed animals and toys. Whenever she puts on her stethoscope, the toys come to life and she can communicate with them. Doc uses this gift to look patch up broken toys in her playhouse clinic.
'Jake and the Never Land Pirates'
Inspired by the Disney classic movie 'Peter Pan', 'Jake and the Never Land Pirates' is an interactive programme that’ll probably cause your little ones to talk to the TV. The music-packed treasure hunt follows the Never Land adventures of kid pirates Jake and his pals Izzy and Cubby. Just like the classic film, the villians Captain Hook and Mr. Smee appear in this as well.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
Mickey is joined by Disney’s ageless characters including Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Daisy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The show sees Mickey speaking directly to his viewers, asking questions, giving them puzzles to solve and encouraging them to play games, and participate in special phrases or cheers.
Sofia the First
The animated series is about an adventurous girl who is made to adjust to royal life after her mother marries the King of Enchancia. The overnight princess called Sofia also has to learn to get along with her step-father, King Roland II, and step-siblings Amber and James
Disney Junior was launched in Africa in 2011 to cater to pre-schoolers and children up to the age of 7 years old.
“With creative storytelling and engaging characters we help make learning a playful experience, whilst ensuring that parent and caregivers can immerse their kids in a safe and fun environment”, said Deirdre King, Head of Marketing, The Walt Disney Company Africa, at the recently held MultiChoice Content Showcase in Mauritius.
