Ufuoma Ejenobor came on the entertainment scene when she emerged as the first runner up at the annually held Miss Nigeria beauty pageant. Following this achievement, she branched out into acting and has become an established Nollywood star.
Born on 23 April, 1981, Ejenobor grew up in Benin city, Jos and Lagos. Both her parents are originally from Delta state.
In 2000, the actress launched her career in photography modelling before moving to fashion runway and then competing in beauty pageants. Being first runner in Miss Nigeria up did not deter her from winning the crown at Miss Earth Nigeria and representing the country at the Miss Earth International pageant in the Philippines. She eventually left this career path behind her to focus more on her acting.
At the same time as she entrenched herself in modelling, she simultaneously pursued a degree from the University of Lagos (Unilag) in French language. She holds a masters degree in Public and International Affairs from Unilag. She also has a certificate in acting from the New York Film Academy and a film making certificate from the Hollywood Film Institute.
Her first movie role was in a Zeb Ejiro production titled “The President Must Not Die”. The actress became a household name when she played Chibuzor on “Edge of Paradise”. Her depiction of the role of the widow connected her with several viewers and fans of the show.
The show that took Ejenobor's across the globe was “My Mum and I”. Her performance as Lillian Wrighton on the drama produced by Royal Roots earned her title of Nollywood's most promising actress that year by several movie critics. The success of the TV programme scored her a nominations at the 2010 Monte Carlo TV Festival Golden Nymph Awards in the Outstanding Actress (comedy) category and at the 2011 Nigerian Entertainment Awards (NEA) in the Best actress in TV series/reality show category.
In an interview with the Sun Newspaper in 2013, the actress revealed that she never thought she would be in the performance Industry. She said “I never had the dream of becoming an actress. It just happened to me. I didn’t dream of it. I am not one of those people who have been acting from their mother`s womb. I am not”.
She has starred in films alongside several top Nollywood actors including Dakore Egunson-Akande, Rita Dominic, Ini Edo, Desmond Elliot, Jim Iyke, Oge Okoye, and Zack Orji.
On the 23 April 2010, the former model walked down the isle in a metallic silver and white dress by Frank Oshodi at a ceremony attended by just close friends, family and colleagues. In an interview with Bella Naija in 2013, she shared that she met her husband, Steve McDermott through a mutual friend while she was filming “Everything It Takes” for Wale Adenuga. The couple welcomed their first son , Isio Jared on 10 October, 2012.
Two days ago, the mother of one put her baby bump on display when she shared some pictures from her shoot with Reze Bonna.
