Tyrese Gibson is returning for sequel

Tyrese Gibson has revealed that he will be returning to the "Transformers" series as his character Robert Epps.

The movie which will feature the return of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager, will have Gibson reprise his character as Robert Epps.

The character Robert Epps is a Technical Sergeant in the United States Air Force, under the command of Captain William Lennox.

"Transformers" is a series of American science fiction action films directed by Michael Bay, and based on the toys created by Hasbro and Tomy.

The already released 1st four movies in the franchise, has grossed almost $3.8billion worldwide.

In 2007,  "Transformers’' was the 45th highest grossing film, and the fifth highest grossing film of the year, grossing  approximately $709 million worldwide.

In 2009, its sequel "Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen" grossed more than it’s prequel, despite its negative reviews.

In 2011, was released, and went on to gross over $1 billion, despite receiving mixed reviews.

In 2014, the 4th film in franchise 'Transformers: Age of Extinction"  was released, and also grossed over $1 billion, bringing in in $320 million  just from China.

Written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and Ken Nolan, "Transformers 5" will debut on June 23, 2017.

Gibson also stars in "Fast 8" which debuts in theaters April 14, 2017.
