Adesua Etomi, Banky W share how they created their chemistry in movie, lessons learned

Adesua Etomi, Banky W, talk about creating their chemistry in "The Wedding Party," positive lesson learned from movie and more.

The romantic comedy presented viewers with two great actor worth their salt, and who had a perfect on-screen chemistry.

In an exclusive interview with Pulse Nigeria, Banky W and Adesua Etomi who play Dozie and Dunni in the romantic comedy spoke about creating their chemistry in movie.

"We have been friends for a while. As a fan of good film, I had already seen Adesua in a couple of movies," said Banky W.

"So, back in January, when I was trying to shoot the video for I knew I wanted a very good actress, so, I called her to book her for the video, and she came and we shot the video, and it's done extremely well. So we kind of built a working relationship from that point. Working on the film was just a next step in the process. It wasn't really difficult creating the chemistry," he added.

Talking about what she loves most about the characters in the movie, Etomi said, "Dozie is so genuine as well. I think that is one of the nicest things about the character Banky played. And Banky is genuine as well, and I'm not just saying it [a laughing Banky says "Oshe.") Even though he is making a joke out of it."

Speaking of her character Dunni, what she loves about her and similarities between Dunni and Adesua, Etomi said, "Dunni is a lover. She goes in heart, body and soul, she is very passionate about people that she loves. And that's very similar to me."

"I'm such a hopeless romantic and that's exactly what Dunni is. But, more so, Dunni is such a listener and I really really like that about her. She fights for the person that she loves. It was really interesting playing her. We are quite similar," she added.

Etomi also shared how they created their chemistry, Banky W spoke on similarities between himself and Dozie, and the duo also shared positive lessons they learned from the movie

The comedy movie is currently the biggest opening weekend in Nollywood after grossing 36 million naira in three days.

The romantic comedy stars Adesua Etomi as Dunni Coker, Banky Was Dozie, Alibaba and Sola Sobowale as Dunni’s parents, and Ireti Doyle and Richard Mofe-Damijo as Dozie’s parents.

"The Wedding Party" also stars Zainab Balogun, Enyinna Nwigwe, Frank Donga, Saka, AY, Ikechukwu, Beverly Naya, Emma OhMaGod, Lepacious Bose amongst others.
