Movie remains on top at box office, ‘Pan’ flops

Directed by Ridley Scott, the much talked about science fiction drama 'The Martian,' is still at the top, in its second weekend of release.

Matt Damon gets left behind in The Martian

which stars  Matt Damon, has in its second weekend, bringing in $37 million.

‘The Martian’ which is an adaptation of the best-selling book by Andy Weir, was made for about $108 million , and has earned a worldwide sum of $226.5 million.

Hugh Jackman’s ‘Pan’ which is being described as one of the worst Peter Pan film adaptations in history, cost $150 million to produce, but brought in just $15.5, taking the third spot.

Taking the second spot is ‘Hotel Transylvania 2,’ which has earned $116.8 million after three weeks.

‘The Intern’ took the fourth place, bringing in $8.7 million in its third weekend , making it a total of $49.8 million so far

At the fifth spot is action film ‘Sicario,’ which earned $7.4 million in its fourth weekend for a total of $26.7 million.

Taking the sixth spot is ‘The Maze Runner : Scorch trials,’  which has earned earned $70.6 million domestically so far.

Robert Zemeckis ‘The Walk’ brought in $3.7 million. The $35-million budgeted film has grossed $6.4 million after two weeks, taking the 7 spot.

The anticipated 'Steve Jobs' biopic brought in $521,000 from just four North American theaters in New York and Los Angeles, becoming the highest-grossing limited release of 2015.
