Donald Duke, Yvonne Jegede, Joseph Benjamin step out to premiere of Omoni Oboli’s film

Oboli led the cast of the film on the red carpet as it received its Lagos premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas Galleria in Victoria Island.

Omoni Oboli premiered her second self-directed film “The First Lady” yesterday, September 29, 2015.

Oboli led the cast of the film on the red carpet as it received its Lagos premiere at the Silverbird Cinemas Galleria in Victoria Island.

The director plays a leading role in the film, which makes its debut in cinemas across Nigeria on Thursday October 1, 2015.

The comedy film stars Joseph Benjamin, Oboli, Yvonne Jegede, Alexx Ekubo, Chinedu Ikedieze, Udoka Oyeka and Tony Monjaro.

Benjamin, Jegede and Ekubo were present at the premiere yesterday. The event was also graced by former Cross Rivers State governor Donald Duke, Nollywood professionals and celebrities including Desmond Elliot, Emem Isong, Ufuoma McDermott, Sammy Okoposo, Deyemi Okanlawon, Blessing Ogbe, Audu Maikori, Tosyn Bucknor, Dimeji Alara, Chigurl and Toni Tones.

The story written by Oboli is a comic drama with elements of fantasy. Michelle is a prostitute with dreams of being rescued from her pimp called Obama by Prince Charming. Kenechi is heir to a business empire; when his father steps down as CEO with intentions of handing over to him, his uncle blinded by jealousy accidentally gets Kenechi transformed to a little boy.
