Actress wins her 1st award for 'Cookie' character

Taraji P Henson (Cookie) just won her first award for her character on FOX hit show 'Empire'. Check out Jussie Smollett's (Jamal) message.

 

Everybody loves Cookie on 'Empire'! The hilarious character played by Taraji P Henson recently won her 1st undefined

Taraji who won 'the Best Actress in a Drama Series' is excited. "Thank you Fox you're bold, you took a shot, you take a risk' -  44-year-old Taraji said while accepting her award.

Her colleague Jussie Smollett, who plays Jamal on the hit series also took  to his Instagram page to congratulate her.

"Our Queen. Congrats beautiful  on your best actress in a drama series at the Critics Choice awards. You breathe life into  like no one in this world ever could. Why am I so over the moon for you? Because as big and pure as your talent is, your heart is even bigger and even more pure. To you m'lady. So well deserved. And you ain't even finished yet." - he wrote.

Taraji plays Cookie Lyon, the outspoken ex-wife and mother of Lucious Lyon's three sons,  who served a 17-year stretch in prison for drug dealing.

Following her return from prison, she sets out to recover her shares of the Empire company.
